(English/Inglês)
Mondays are those (re) start days, when we are aware of the ellipsis that the weekends have left us, short loose ends that we were unable to finish, gestures that were left in the middle or words that were cut off. It seems that time is too short for us to do what we like, what we want and, above all, what we need to make us happy.

Perhaps it is better to change the perspective, to consider these days as the first day that can lead to change and culminate in the weekend. Dancing on Glass by St Lucia can be that metaphor about our actions, almost as we walk on that thin ice that can break, but we didn't learn anything from it ... but that's what Mondays are there for, isn't it? We may have different paces, but sooner or later, we will achieve what we want, but the real challenge comes when the achievement has already been made.

We broke this second with Jean-Philip Grobler, from South Africa, who brings a mixture of curious electronics, but which is the result of his musical evolution in this second album Matter and experiences in remixing Passion Pitt, Foster the People and giving voice to tracks by The Knocks.

Frühling ... primavera melancólica!

by perplex3r, em 22.03.21

2raumwohnung

Happy Spring!

English/Inglês

This 2 bedroom apartment (meaning of 2Raumwohnung) opens its windows to let in the still cold sun of the first spring mornings, warming your soul with the a mixture of classic instruments and bossa nova melodies on the album Melancolish Schön.

Bossa nova in German? Yes. We break down prejudices about a language that is no longer felt as harsh, cold and distant, that brings a melancholy joy of spring that has barely begun, just as we must do every day. Our relationships start in the morning, and we may not fully understand the other person, his attitudes or even his gaze, but if we listen carefully, we can feel what he is saying, even without words.

So, even for those who do not understand the language of declensions, long words and capital letters in the middle of the sentences, Wir trafen uns in einem Garten transports anyone to that garden bench, where we are with a smile and a light breeze through the  hair and we can’t explain why we’re in love. Spiel Mit, tell us that, just one look is enough to read each other's minds and knowing how much we want to touch each other and get closer, under a tree of that garden. How many sensations this acoustic album by this electronic band can bring, despite being released in 2005, all due to the vocal sweetness of Inge Humpe and instrumentalized by Tommi Eckard. Poetic!

The album ends the trip with Liebe (Love), the cupid that Spring brings to see if, after this physical and mental confinement, it will be like this, we gradually let ourselves fall in love with each other, even when our language doesn't have the same terms, our color is different and our projects do not intersect.

Happy Spring!

2a feira ... situation: critical!

by perplex3r, em 15.03.21

'Cause you're free
To do what you want to do
You've got to live your life
Do what you want to do

English/Inglês

Situation: Critical is that moment when hope seems exhausted, in a mixture of tiredness and resignation. As we have been feeling throughout the cold months of 2021. With the phrase After all this time, you think somebody might of learned their lesson the album is opened, almost as if it were a sacred scripture, reminding us that many times our lessons were of no use and, unnecessarily, we tried to experience moments of suffering that do nothing but bring feelings of déjà vú.

Found a Cure merges with the relentless pursuit of New Kind of Medicine; let us say that we often have to seek the best experiences from the past to be the basis of internal progress that leads us to something new and much, much more joyful. Like the situation that the world nowadays experiences, we have all had our quarantine periods, in which our hearts were closed, only going out at specific times and retreated into the room, under the gloom. After that, and without the help of Artificial Intelligence, he looked for the necessary antibodies to no longer have toxic connections.

Ultra Naté reached stardom in 1998 (# 17 UK Album Charts) with an album that could very well be a Maya prophecy of our hearts or, years later, of the world. Throughout 10 original tracks, we managed to have a mix of disco, dance, pop, garage house and vocal house, with calmer moments but full of beats that would brighten up any evening party. After all, we have Master At Work, Mood II Swing and D-Influence pills that give us the immunity we need to continue with our (love) stories, at least, until the next overwhelming passion.

That is why, and not only, it is possible to understand why Free became an anthem of a generation that wanted to free itself from emotional shackles and handcuffs that blamed the culture of electronic music ... four walls of your prison room.

But,we are less further to sing, under a mirror ball at 4 in the morning:

'Cause you're free
To do what you want to do
You've got to live your life
Do what you want to do

The Rhythm Of The Night.

On May 13, in Portugal, while some longed for the Eurovision Song Contest, were feeling nervous about football matches and were waiting for the Pope's message in Fatima,in Madrid, more than 16,000 pilgrims were traveling through time.
At 6pm the doors of the arena opened for the deejays Jumper Brothers to set the tone for more than 6 hours of partying with Show Me Love (Robin S), Free (Ultra Naté), Beachball (Nalin & Kane) culminating with the countdown to the beginning of Love The 90s with the Spanish OBK. There could not be a time tunnel as perfect as this, where we had the opportunity to enter the Guinness Book of Records with Whigfield's Saturday Night, in a place where everyone danced the typical choreography of the summer of '94. Jenny Berggren, Ace Of Base, showed us, with Beautiful Life, that over 20 years later life continues to be beautiful and joyful and that everyone finally understood the story of All That She Wants and saw The Sign, which explained the more 23 million albums sold from the multi-platinum album Happy Nation in 93/94 (also in the Guinness Book Of Records).
Between europop and eurodance, when we heard Diggy Boog Diggy Diggy Boom Diggy Bang we felt we were listening to the compilation DanceMania, in which Ice Mc shone with his typical Italo-disco sound. Australian Tina Cousins brought back memories with Pray and Mysterious Times, her great collaboration with German Sash !, and the Brazilian Corona starred in one of the funniest moments when she admitted to be speaking "portuñol" (mixture of portuguese and spanish), mixing her music with Boom Boom Boom of Outhere Brothers and to have one of the biggest interactions with the audience with the sound of The Rhythm Of The Night. Between the performances of the guest groups, there was time for the duo of deejays, with the help of fire, lasers, colorful screens and rain of confetti, to play  songs that filled the dance floors during the decade with Haddaway (What Is Love ), Gala (Let a Boy Cry), Faithless (Insomnia) and Kadoc (The Night Train), pick up Nirvana and Bon Jovi from the playlist and pay homage to Robert Miles, making it a non-stop party! Finally, the eurodance / euro rap duos Snap! made many feet jump with Penny Ford's powerful voice in The Power and with the classic Rhythm Is a Dancer, in addition to rapper Ya Kid K, Technotronic's original voice that set the crowd singing all in one voice Pump Up The Jam and the Dutch 2 Unlimited who showed that the 90's generation has no limit to the joy they were feeling while traveling listening to No Limit and Twilight Zone.
In short, if you ask if it is worth this trip, we conclude with a big smile that YES! This Time Machine is able to put an entire generation nostalgic about a recent decade, in which with so much evolution, still knows the connection between a pencil and a cassette, remembers what it was to make a mixtape with love and, above all, knows has paved the way for a culture of pop and dance music that is now felt all over the world. What do we do now? We watch the best moments and count the days that are missing for the next trips! More videos on Youtube, Sapo Videos and photos on Facebook and Instagram of the blog!
