Após ter editado
Unrest (2003) a solo,
Øye juntou-se a
Marcin Öz,
Sebastian Maschat, e
Daniel Nentwig para formar a banda com um título bastante peculiar:
The Whitest Boy Alive. No seu álbum de estreia
Dreams, a banda apresenta uma maravilha de sons misturados que adicionam à electrónica o indie rock, um pouco como
Pacific!,e assim surgiram temas como
Inflation,
Burning e
Golden Cage, cujo o vídeo é visualmente desafiante e estimulante. Desta forma, o interesse na Europa pelos seus concertos é grande, onde em cada actuação se pode esperar um cover com uma roupagem original e divertida, tal como
Music Sound Better With You (
Stardust) ou o club hit
Show Me Love (
Robin S).
Em suma, este será um projecto interessante para (re)descobrir enquanto esperamos pelo novo álbum dos King of Convenience que, a esta altura, está a ser gravado em Puerto Vallarta no México.

Erlend Øye can be a little weird to pronounce but not difficult to recognise as he has given his voice to
Röyksopp’s fantastic
Poor Leno, has released one cd under the compilation
DJ Kicks (contains the fabulous

So Weit Wie Noch Nie from
Jürgen Paape) and, together with Eirik Bøe, is one of the men behind the critically acclaimed group
Kings of Convenience.
After the solo release
Unrest (2003),
Øye joined a
Marcin Öz,
Sebastian Maschat and
Daniel Nentwig to form a band with a very peculiar title:
The Whitest Boy Alive. In their album
Dreams, the band presents a magnificent mixture of sounds that add to the electronica the indie rock, like
Pacific!, and then great songs came out such as
Inflation,
Burning and
Golden Cage, which has a visually challenging video. In this way, the interest around their performances in Europe is big, as in each performance one should also expect an original and funny cover of songs such as
Music Sound Better With You (
Stardust) and the club hit
Show Me Love (
Robin S).
To sum up, this is a very interesting project to (re)discover while waiting for the new album from Kings of Convenience, which is being recorded in Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
