cry me a river ... não quero saber!

Cry me a River

to tell a moaning person to shut up and that you dont care.

When the week is still in the middle, as well as those badly organized papers on the table, with all the post its full of notes, diaries full of risks and badly drawn words, it is not possible, on a beautiful spring day of sun and heat, spoiling the joy we feel with meaningless things.

Cried Me a River, despite written in the past, is a very present feeling with melodious lyrics that takes us to fields where we see flowers of hope blooming. We shouldn't always care about everything they tell us, we shouldn't even feel pain from those who don't want to be helped or even from those who use a certain sensual blackmail to grab our gaze and make us stop seeing things.

Jersey St, in this vocal house tale, reaches that maturity that, for many, takes years to develop, but which is perfectly attainable with our entire life story. Like life, there are two editions in this 12" , the vocal house version with the story well told in front of us and the dub version, which is nothing more than an instrumental version for us to write moments of our history on a garden bench or on a walk by the sea ...

Or, right now, on the balcony with fresh can of Super Bock under the silence of the night!

Foundations: amor e(m) confinamento ..

by perplex3r, em 24.02.21

You said I must eat so many lemons,
'cause I am so bitter.
I said "i'd rather be with your friends mate,
'cause they are much fitter"

Made of Bricks (UK nº1)? Talvez ...

This ... is what love is all about!

English/Inglês

Kate Nash's Foundations has never made more sense than now ... not even when dating during that age of innocence or even during our famous twenties when, for us, the world was an endless list of possibilities, gone fading over time.

We are now in that moment when our love was found and, with whom we have to share all those cute things that, in the beginning, we thought would be so characteristic and that we would not exchange them for anything ... until today! We can say, I love you the way you are, because I see you at the end of the day and the longing gets tighter; but now, we would like to say I love you the way you are, but if you change this little thing, I will like you even more. Examples? How about washing the dishes? Stop eating and making crumbs when I'm on a video call, or maybe stop listening to that song once and for all? We are entering a collapse in which love and a hut may not be enough, in which we seek those childish ironies that, maliciously, can give us some joy / sadness for brief moments during the week.

This single, which reached the UK's Top 10, in a particularly special year in music (2007), among singers known for MySpace and Youtube and a few mp3s spread across peer to peer programs made us wonder if our hearts were destined for what we had next to us. Still, it brought up those feelings of revolt and shame, with a touch of irony in unthinkable acts. A few years later, Kate Nash sweetly raises the question of whether or not we can forget the details of what life is made of. Is that why this album was called Made of Bricks (UK # 1)? Maybe ...

What is certain is that this house, today, was built by two and cannot, in some way, be overthrown by that desire to leave you in the room with the window open for you to learn the lesson of not to drink so much Casal Garcia on a Wednesday.  Or, not having a dinner ready on time simply because you felt like watching another episode of that absurd series on Netflix about sex that we can't have, since we have a lot of people around us.

After all, the week is almost over and, on Friday, we will forget these ridiculous details and remember how happy this love by our side makes us (even without having lifted the toilet lid for 4 days or having soiled the floor with all that vegetarian food you decided to make after watching a program on  24 Hour Kitchen).

This ... is what love is all about!

#throwbackthursday at TOM'S DINER

Afternoons spent at the cafés studying, watching the time go by, reading or listening to music. In those lonely moments, we saw the tables around us, lit a cigarette, and felt the first taste of coffee. We have our desk with our mobile phones, a book and the headphones that we are about to use ... however, some couples enter, some happy, others abandoned to their long-term relationship. The old man writes in his tablet some work e-mails, two guys wearing black suits discuss the news, while the 20-year-old girl speaks very loudly on the  phone ... therefore we have in a single place, a world of experiences, hearts, loves and lives.
It is in this blend of lives intertwined in a cafe that lies the beauty of simplicity in the lyrics of Tom's Diner that we can nicely replace Tom to whatever we go everyday to have our breakfast. Originally released by Suzanne Vega in 1982 it is the opening theme of the album Solitude Standing (1987), which included the acclaimed single, although with a very sad story, Luka. Curious fact about Tom's Diner is that it was remixed in its own style by the British duo DNA who released  the single without Vega's permission, as it was common in the late 1980s, as it was quite common to use samples without the authour's permission, in order to offer well-known songs , but more appropriate for the culture of the club that has started, for example Black Box with Ride on Time, who sampled Lolleatta's Holloway voice. After getting into an agreement, and with Vega's consent, the single arrives at number 2 of the UK Singles Chart, having already been used by Giorgio Moroder with Britney Spears, Timbaland and even the singer r'n'b Aaliyah with Hot Like Fire and by the Portuguese David Carreira and Bingo Players on  Spinnin 'Records.
To sum up, we can observe and learn from others around at ______ (fill in with your favorite place). Maybe we are about ot be inspired by the attitudes of others or continue to believe that we are on the right path.

TESTIFY love on a hot spring day!

by perplex3r, em 10.04.17

hifi sean feat. crystal waters

Tell me why I need your love // why I got to have your love
Justify your love // Make me a believer

English / Inglês
Everyday you question yourself! You question your day, what you believe, the words that are told to you, and the reason certain actions of yourself and others. These are some of the questions, that this track, which mixes gospel with a very cheerful house, brings us on these hot spring days.
Considered by Billboard as the 39th Most Successful Dance Artist of All Time, the American Crystal Waters gives voice to the single Testify of the album Ft of the British Hifi Sean, the voice that already made us know social problems with Gypsy Woman, leave the polluted city and follow her to Destination Calabria (with Alex Gaudino) or even hum a blazing love with 100% Pure Love. In addition to her unique voice, Crystal, along with Sean Dickson, shows us once again her ability as a writer and contributes to the demystification of dance music that is often seen as futile and meaningless, in fact 6 ASCAP Songwriter Awards are proof of this.
If you want to emerge in more electronic waters and exorcise your demons in a dancefloor full of colors and lasers, there is the remix of Superchumbo (Tom Stephan) that gives the track an energetic boost, full of syncopated beats and a more latin flavor. The remix package also includes the excellent extended version and the remix of Steve Mac, which has  "tell me why I need your love / why I got to have your love" in loop with house beats moves us away from the gospel moment, but  brings us closer to  much more proper shores at 5 a.m. in a club.
Thus, Testify makes us question what we believe when something or someone comes and moves in our world of beliefs, but above all, reminds us that we must (always?) Be open to all possibilities and accept all the experiences we have in front of us ... after all, aren´t life and love made of that?

“I know I’ve asked to much of you / and I pushed you away”

Can the simplicity of those words shake the skeptical ones, the   unbelievers and those who are cold because of the weather or life? It seems that in the blossom of a spring that has been proving to be cold, Woman’s Hour can show us the sunlight in our musical world. Fiona Burgess, William Burgess, Nicolas Graves, Josh Hunnisett managed to shake this season with the track Her Ghost, fresh, melodic and electronically simple (without being poor)!

To prove that, one has the promo video which turns into gestures Fiona’s words, the voice that came be part of the list of indie bands and force our hearts to have hope in the music business in 2014.

In relation to Love, when we have nothing left to say, we can simply give that long hug and listen ….

“I know I’ve asked to much of you / and I pushed you away”
