Levanta-te, escolhe a tua bebida favorita e press play ... hoje vais viajar no tempo a sorrir!
Happy Friday!

Lou Ottens (1926-2021), passed away this week. The inventor of the cassette is to blame for the waste of pocket money on tapes full of happy or sad music, with more or less quality (if we look at these editions in the eyes of today), which were used to brighten up garage parties, walks with our walkman, long trips to the Algarve and, above that, it led us losing endless hours recording those MixTapes specially for our friends. Then, with all that pride visible in our eyes, we handed out a handwritten playlist and, with a big smile, we said: I recorded this tape thinking about you!

Years later, and nostalgia aside, Side A has always overlapped Side B of these compilations. We all know that the best songs (or the ones we like the most) are right at the beginning of the tape. Maybe that's why, when we build a compilation, our creativity, good taste, effort and commitment are attenuated over the long 30-minute tape ... sometimes we just want to fill those final minutes just to, imagine, not to get the feeling that we didn't do or say anything ... is that what Side B is for?

We still continue to record stories on tapes that break, glue back together and sometimes degrade over time, but as we are on the best day of the week, we cannot end as if we were with the Duracell batteries at the end and our party ending ... After all, we can always rewind and record all over again, right? One thing is for sure, we cannot be on pause until that song that fills our hearts is played on the radio for us to record it religiously ... Get up, choose your favorite drink and press play ... today you will travel back in time smiling!

Happy Friday!

this is my MESSAGE OUT TO YOU!

by perplex3r, em 26.04.17

When we walk along the beach, close to the sea and one of the waves come with all that cold foam and hit your feet ... you feel this initial chilling cold, you look at the horizon and think you want to stay there, watching the sunset forever and ever. This is the sensation that André Tanneberger's most recent single provokes us, in addition to transporting us to a nostalgic moment lived by two people. Suddenly, we see a small object floating in the water ... we see a small bottle, sent by a castaway from the northern seas, and we read that this musical message has two versions - a radio and extended version - being the original taken from the most recent double album Next released on April 21 and features Robbin & Jonis and F51.
We all know that some years have passed since 9PM (Till I Come) has reached number 1 in the UK Chart (the first trance single ever to reach it), as well as panoply of albums, singles and double compilations, but we can still that soft trance summer feeling, that chill after spending the whole afternoon lying on the towel shared with the one we love and our skin popping because of all that salt. This happens because ATB continues to keep his characteristic sound, simple lyrics, although full of meaning and at the same time, adds a more recent production but moving away from the electronic music we hear nowadays, almost like coming from a different world.
Maybe the words on the track are not the ones convey  the message you want to send, but they may well be the starting point for breaking the ice with whom you winked the eye last holiday’s eve, talk to that friend again who, for reasons apart, you stop writing to or, more importantly, start a conversation with yourself. Choose the bottle, the paper, the pen and leave nothing to be said ...
